Greed in Dante's Divine Comedy

DANTE'S DIVINE COMEDY
The concept for this project is on the poems of Dante Alighieri from The Divine Comedy published in 14th century in Italy, specifically the first edition ‘Dante’s Inferno’ which goes through the nine layers of hell. The idea was to incorporate the given words to portray these levels of hell in a more ominous and sinister approach. The poem is an aspect of Dante’s version of Christianity but my intention is not to concentrate on the religious aspect but rather the concept of this poet’s ideology what he thinks the value of humans morals and ethics are but with my own philosophy instead. The each rank of hell I placed one of the words, sometimes multiple words work for the specific rank depending later on final decisions, elimination through which words fits more competently with the rank.

LUXURY / GREED
The idea of the word luxury will be associated with the fourth level of Dante’s Inferno, greed. The concept that I would be creating will be an ironic put on the idea that everything can be bought in the materialistic oriented generation. Hence, the idea of creating tickets that are meant to be a direct invite from heaven. This is indeed controversial but putting the current situation of how the planet is leading and dominating it is very financially oriented, which I wanted to criticise with this concept.
